Building reference updates.
I reached out to photographers, designers and artists to help make these buildings and landmarks more accurate.
These are approximate exterior studies. Original photographs and drawings stay private. If you have a useful drawing, photo or 3D file, I’d love to hear from you at daniel@futuremississauga.com.
New reference studies
These render studies show the exterior details I could add from shared references, with earlier versions where available. Winding Trail and 228 Queen Street South are now also in the city model. Other studies remain separate where their placement or details need more checking.
Zonta Meadows Park · Artwork study
Gala Gateway
Gabriel Fain pointed me to photographs of Gala Gateway, the artwork he created with Harley Valentine. I used them to study its steel frame and two granite stones, then sent these views back for feedback. He has given permission to share them here and in the atlas.
The shape and size are approximate. I haven't confirmed the artwork's exact position or direction in Zonta Meadows Park, so these views use a simple display base. It has not been placed in the 3D city map. Gala Procession is a separate artwork.
Original artwork: Harley Valentine and Gabriel Fain. Model study: Future Mississauga. Original reference photographs remain private.
Dixie & Applewood · First exterior study
1355 Winding Trail
The exterior references shared by KMA helped me add the tower, glazed front bays and lower green roofs that were missing from the City model. The earlier model and updated study use the same viewpoints.

The City footprint provides the starting scale and shape. Tower height, roof levels, facade details and unseen rear surfaces are estimates. The plain surrounding ground is for display only.
Exterior reference material: Kleinfeldt Mychajlowycz Architects (KMA). Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
The exterior is now in the city model. A small fitted forecourt keeps the entrances clear of the displayed ground while retaining the original City floor. This is a display correction, not surveyed site grading.
Cooksville · Updated exterior study
45 Paisley Boulevard West
Panoramic Properties shared another view of the building, so I could work on the opposite end. This comparison shows the earlier reference model and the details added from that photograph.

This update covers the newly photographed end. Dimensions, recessed surfaces and concealed details remain approximate; the other side and roof have not been re-measured.
Reference photographs supplied by Panoramic Properties. Mapped building and surroundings: City of Mississauga.
Cooksville · Updated exterior study
2200 Sherobee Road
I used Panoramic Properties’ photographs to refine the northwest side facing Sherobee Road and correct the oversized rooftop block. These matched views compare the City’s original model with the new study, both up close and among the surrounding buildings.

The rooftop enclosure keeps its original mapped footprint, with its height estimated at 4.5 m above the main roof. Roof height, balcony depth and entrance details are photo-derived approximations; measured dimensions and hidden rear finishes remain unverified.

City Centre · New partial artwork study
Conference at the Council House
The installation photograph shared by Maxwell Stephens helped me build the tower and five birds visible on and around it. These are two views of that first study, with individual bird poses interpreted from the reference.

This is a partial study of a 30-bird artwork. It includes the tower and five visible birds, not the whole installation. The roof profile, bird shapes and hidden surfaces are approximate. The published 2.5 m tower height does not specify exactly where it was measured.
Original artwork: Maxwell Stephens and Hadley Howes (Hadley+Maxwell), Studio of Received Ideas. Installation reference shared by Maxwell Stephens.
Clarkson · Updated exterior study
Benares House
The museum photographs helped me work on the kitchen gable, basement windows and small drainage details. I kept the mapped building shape as the starting point.

Window sizes, smaller fittings and the condition shown are interpreted from photographs. This is an exterior study, with no interior reconstruction.
Reference photographs supplied by Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Clarkson · Updated exterior study
Benares Visitor Centre
The reference photographs made the raised end gables, entrance roof and dark-green trim much clearer. I added those details around the original mapped building.

The entrance alignment and hidden roof connections remain estimates. The study keeps the City building footprint and does not establish measured dimensions.
Reference photographs supplied by Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Clarkson · Updated exterior study
The Anchorage
The shared photographs helped me refine the dormers, dark shutters, entrance and siding. These matched views show how that changes the earlier model.

The roof proportions and the way the dormers meet it are approximate. Hidden surfaces and current exterior condition still need checking.
Reference photographs supplied by Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Clarkson · Updated exterior study
Bradley Log Cabin
The photographs revealed a long gabled roof and a smaller grey addition. I rebuilt those shapes and worked on the log walls, windows and entrance.

The entrance direction and roof junctions are a working interpretation. This study is shown for feedback and has not been adopted into the city map.
Reference photographs supplied by Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Clarkson · Updated exterior study
Bradley Barn
The museum references helped me add the timber siding, door and roof finish to the simple mapped barn. The shape and position start from the City model.

Siding spacing, small fittings and material colours are approximate. The photographs do not establish a measured survey or current condition.
Reference photographs supplied by Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Streetsville · Updated exterior study
Leslie Log House
The photograph shared by Streetsville Historical Society helped me give the house its weathered log walls and more recognizable window and door details.

The mapped building is the starting shape. Log spacing, opening sizes, hidden sides and current condition remain approximate.
Reference photograph supplied by Streetsville Historical Society. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
Port Credit · New lighthouse study
Port Credit Lighthouse
The photographs shared by Port Credit BIA helped me study the lighthouse and its red-and-white exterior. These two renders show the same model and materials under different lighting.

This is a new study, not a before-and-after comparison. The position is provisional within about three metres; height, footprint, paint and present condition have not been measured.
Reference photographs supplied by Port Credit BIA. Independent approximate model by Future Mississauga.
Streetsville · New frontage study
228 Queen Street South
A Streetsville photograph shared by the City helped me add the arched upper windows, pale storefront trim and side dormers of the Eaton-Bentley-Ladner building. The original City building shape is retained.

The photograph’s embedded date is June 2018, so it does not establish today’s condition or occupant. Window sizes, trim and dormers are estimates. Fine ornament and concealed details are omitted; the plain display ground is not a measured street. These original renders are 1200 × 900 pixels.
Reference photograph: City of Mississauga. Starting building geometry: City of Mississauga.
The original City shell keeps its exact position. A separate narrow support fills its inherited ground gap; this is schematic display geometry, not a surveyed historic foundation.

NRC Advanced Materials Research Facility
The existing laboratory now has its photographed window bands, white fins, entrance and open rooftop frame. The original City footprint, roofs and plant enclosure are preserved.

Photo-informed exterior details; pane spacing, fins, doorway and rooftop frame dimensions remain estimates. No source photographs are used as textures.

W.G. Davis Meeting Place · canopy study
The open entrance canopy and its columns are added to the existing campus, using the shared photographs and mapped roof outline.

Canopy placement, members and height are approximate. Campus roofs, plaza, roads and terrain are unchanged; current condition is not independently surveyed.

Bell Gairdner Estate
The main and coach houses are restored to the city model, with source-based roof forms and photo-informed windows, shutters, dormers and entrance details.

Exact dated City surfaces retained. Added facade details are estimates; the coach roof does not resolve every photographed step-down. No demolition-complete claim is made for the omitted eastern garage.

West End Buddhist Temple
The temple has its photographed tiered maroon roof, porch, windows and warm wall finishes, anchored to the City outline and roof-height limit.

Photo-informed roof and exterior interpretation; fine dimensions remain estimates. This does not reproduce the Buddha sculpture. The neighbouring Chaithya is a separate unconfirmed-size study.

Churchill Meadows · log play reference study
The timber log-play landmark is shown in Mattamy Sports Park, with its supported colours and posts registered to the existing play surface.

Photo-based interpretation; member dimensions, fine connections and hidden surfaces remain approximate. Source images remain private. The mapped ground is display geometry, not a surveyed playground level. This depicts the log landmark. The community-centre building is a separate known gap; its roof footprint is verified but a reliable height has not been recovered.

Creekside Apartments
Creekside’s current 51-home project is under construction. An optional exterior study now shows how its earlier plan could fit beside the existing buildings, with the open vehicle passage, balconies and reference-based finishes.

This optional model uses measured controls from the December 2023 50-home plan and newer exterior references. The current project has 51 homes. The 13.65 m height, grade, facade divisions and smaller details are estimates; this is not its final approved or as-built architecture. Only the planned exterior appears in the future view, with alternate studies enabled.
Architecture and exterior references: Invizij Architects. Early plan: City/Indwell community presentation.
