Each building, in its place.
New reference studies: buildings, heritage sites and local landmarks ↗
I reached out to developers, architects and local project teams to help make my models of Mississauga more accurate. The drawings, photos and models they shared helped me improve these buildings and show how they fit into the neighbourhood.
If your building or project is shown here and could be represented better, I’d love to improve it. Email me at daniel@futuremississauga.com. A 3D model is ideal, but drawings, PDFs or clear photos can help me work from what you have.

Across these 12 studies, you’ll find 24 full-resolution pictures (2800 × 2000) and a two-page PDF for each project. The neighbourhoods come from the City’s dated mapped model. I’ve noted older designs, proposals and estimates below; these are approximate views, and plans can change.
1422 Aldo Drive
2019 SketchUp model and 2020 exterior renders supplied through the Kalgreens team.
What I’m still checking
I worked from the 2019 model and 2020 renders, which may show different versions of the house. The upper flat roof is plain black following the Kalgreens team’s feedback. On 10 October I corrected the house’s orientation: the entrance and garage now face northeast toward Aldo Drive, checked against aerial imagery and the City’s roof footprint. Other finishes, final grading and the current built exterior remain approximate or unconfirmed.
References supplied through the Kalgreens team; original model-author credit remains to be confirmed.
Burnhamthorpe Community Centre
1 October 2020 City/CS&P design boards, the City’s 2024 footprint and supplied completed-building photographs.
What I’m still checking
I checked the design against photographs of the completed building, but some roof levels, glazing and solar-panel details remain approximate. The City records completion in 2024 and a reopening event on 19 February 2024; that does not establish the exact architectural completion date. The photographs’ capture dates and finished grade still need checking.

1338 Daimler Road
2023 permit roof plan, elevations and section, checked against City 2024 footprint mapping.
What I’m still checking
I made an exterior approximation from the 2023 drawings, with estimated materials and smaller details. The elevations and section show a ridge around 9.26 m, but the site table and some window-schedule dimensions differ. I’m still checking which drawings govern, the house and garage placement, and whether this matches the current built exterior.

6719 Glen Erin Drive
17 March 2026 site plan: 16 storeys and 263 new apartments, 28 townhomes and a retained 13-storey apartment; City mapping and property-manager photographs.
What I’m still checking
I used the March 2026 plan for the new 16-storey building and kept the existing 13-storey apartment. The 48.15 m figure is the last residential floor slab, not the roof, so I estimated the upper enclosures; the retained building’s roughly 39 m roof is also an estimate. Current elevations, approval and status information would help me check the facades, heights and siting.

Hazelhurst Business Park
September 2026 Hopewell brochure, printed dimensions for 745 and 795, and the City’s 2024 mapped footprint for 705.
What I’m still checking
I matched the three footprints and reference photographs, but the 36 ft figure for 745 and 795 is clear interior height, not roof height. Roofs, parapets and finishes are estimates, and the brochure does not establish 705’s clear height. I’d like to confirm the current exterior and occupancy; marketing delivery dates do not prove either.

South Banks / Lakeview Village
Proposed South Banks design interpreted from August 2026 marketing site and elevation references, checked against the City planning parcel.
What I’m still checking
I interpreted the 17 blocks from marketing plans, so the heights, roofs and facades are estimates. I haven’t confirmed the current approved design or construction, and the marketed occupancy date is a target. The City’s dated map snapshot is sparse around this site and does not show the full future Lakeview neighbourhood.

41 Bay Street
1 March 2017 exterior elevations, a supplied finished-exterior photograph and City 2024 roof-footprint mapping.
What I’m still checking
The 2017 elevations and finished photograph helped me check the cross-gables and wraparound porch. The 24 ft 6 in measurement is ridge to deck rather than height from the ground; my roughly 8.9 m overall height is estimated. I’d like to check the current roof, smaller details and finished grade.

42 John Street South
Proposed addition and colour option 2 from the 17 March 2025 elevations; current construction and final approved finish remain unconfirmed.
What I’m still checking
I worked from the March 2025 proposed-addition elevations and colour option 2, so this shows a design idea rather than a confirmed built result. I haven’t confirmed the current approval, finish or construction; heights, the rear footprint and some roof intersections are inferred. A current photograph or measured roof/site plan would help me check those parts.

42 Peter Street South
24 February 2021 front streetscape and a supplied before-and-after image, checked against City roof-footprint mapping for 42 Peter Street South.
What I’m still checking
I used the 2021 streetscape and before-and-after image for the main house’s front, roof and dormer. The attached side wing remains City context because the references do not show enough of it. Rear details, roof dimensions and finished grade still need checking.

South Common Community Centre and Library
2023 City/Perkins&Will design references and supplied 2026 construction images, used to picture the intended finished exterior.
What I’m still checking
I used the design references and construction images to picture the finished building, rather than its current construction stage. The 12.8 m roof height, facade details and scale are estimates, and one independent check against a neighbouring footprint was about 10.4 m off. I’m still checking the precise siting and finished grade, including how the building meets the surrounding ground.

Block 22 - dated optional design study
Hariri Pontarini roof and statistics sheets, revision 3, 23 April 2021; a dated proposal study.
What I’m still checking
I interpreted the April 2021 roof and statistics sheets for this dated proposal, which remains on hold. The terraces follow the plan, but some upper-floor shapes, facade details and roof-height definitions need more drawings to check. I haven’t confirmed a current design revision or a construction/completion timeline.

St Hilary’s Anglican Church · roof study
Supplied exterior photographs and the City’s mapped lower wings, used for an approximate steep-roof study.
What I’m still checking
I used photographs to build a steep-roof study around the City’s mapped lower wings. The roughly 14 m ridge, estimated range of 11.5–16.5 m and approximately 62° pitch are inferred rather than measured. I’m still checking the height and rear detail, so this remains an approximate roof study.

I updated these building studies on 9 October 2026. Source dates and remaining estimates are noted above.
